Body Peace Diary: Planting Seeds of Caretaking the Land Circle Reflection

The Experience

There are few things in my life that I have created that have taken on the quality of being bigger than me, but these circles are one of them. This circle was full of family and friends who were willing to be creative in nature and try something new with me. When I really tap into how this experience made me feel, and what we were able to tap into as a group I am overwhelmed with beautiful emotions. I am in awe, disbelief, reverence and pure hope that reaches all the way to my toes. I am so happy to offer this service and it feels in a way that I have been training for it all my life.

The Action

Planting the seed of caretaking the land with this group of people on August 23 (the day of the Virgo new moon no less!) was a real honour, The act we came up with together was small as it was mighty. Our action plan was to change our thinking about when or why we would venture outdoors and do what feels right for us to each build our unique connection points with the local land we’re on everyday. The change lied in the frequency and conditions around the purpose of our visits or relationship building. The group expressed their current beliefs around needing to over-prepare or over-plan in order to venture out. Even then, there was often a task that was standing between the simple practice of being on the land, being creative or open to the relaxation of the body and whole self that commonly takes place as we are immersed in nature. Together we chose to plant the seed of beginning to think differently and down the line holding one another accountable to act differently.
